62-year-old Man Dies in Fiery 2-Vehicle Collision in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, CA (February 20, 2019) — A 62-year-old man died, and two others were injured, in a fiery vehicle crash on Highway 12 at Beck Avenue in Fairfield. According to the authorities, the man was one of the occupants of a sedan which caught fire after colliding with an SUV Tuesday morning.
It was reported that a passerby saw and tried to extinguish the fire and rescue two people in the sedan. The SUV had one occupant. All three were severely injured and taken to local hospitals. The 62-year-old man who was in the sedan succumbed to his injuries.
Lanes of Highway 12 were closed for hours while the police conducted their investigation. The reason behind the crash is still unknown.
