1 Dead and 2 Hurt in San Juan Capistrano Car Accident
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (April 23, 2019) – A 34-year-old man from South Gate died, and two others sustained injuries in the collision of two pickup trucks on April 22.
The incident occurred on Highway 74 near Gibby Road. The two people who sustained injuries went to a hospital via ambulance.
According to reports, a 22-year-old Hemet male driver of a westbound 2016 Ram truck on Ortega Highway crash with an eastbound 1999 Dodge Ram truck. The collision occurred when the Hemet driver drove across the double yellow line “for reasons unknown.”
Meanwhile, CHP Officer Rafael Reynoso said that the other vehicle’s driver died at the scene.
Moreover, the 30-year-old male passenger inside the 1999 Dodge Ram truck sustained traumatic injuries in the collision.
Reynoso added that medics transported all to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.
“At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision,” Reynoso said.
