One Fatality on Highway 33 Auto Collision in Merced County
Fresno, CA (April 23, 2020)– Wednesday evening, a 25-year-old unidentified man died while another two individuals sustained injuries in an auto collision on Highway 33.
The CHP responded after receiving crash reports on Wednesday evening, April 23. First dispatched officers arrived on Highway 33 and located a Nissan and Acura on the scene.
Reportedly, a woman driving an Acura with her passenger was travelling northbound on Highway 33, when she attempted to turn left she crashed directly into a Nissan heading south. In an attempt to yield, the Nissan skidded into the Acura’s right side.
Due to the extreme impact, the passenger inside the Acura died at the scene. However, officials didn’t disclose his identity as well as the other people involved.
Moreover, the woman driving the Acura was immediately transported to Los Banos Memorial for minor injuries while the man driving the Nissan refused medical aid.
Furthermore, Investigators do not consider alcohol as a potential factor in the crash.
