1 Dead and 1 Hurt in Lilliwaup Car Accident
LILLIWAUP, WA (May 27, 2019) – A person died while another sustained injuries in a truck collision on Highway 101 on May 23.
The incident occurred just before 8:30 a.m. along U.S. 101 near Triton Height Road, right along the Jefferson/Mason County border 12 miles north of Lilliwaup.
The force of the crash forced the truck over, spilling its load of sludge from a nearby pulp mill across the roadway.
Trooper Brandon Johanson revealed that the pickup truck died at the scene. Meanwhile, medics airlifted dump truck driver to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Unfortunately, his exact condition is still unknown.
The collision shut down all of Highway 101 but has since been reopened.
