Passenger Dies, Driver Critical after Three-Vehicle Crash on State Route 347 and Papago Road in Maricopa

Maricopa, AZ (March 25, 2022) – Thursday night, one person died and one other sustained critical injuries in a three-vehicle crash on State Route 347 and Papago Road.

The fatal three-vehicle crash in Maricopa happened at around 8 p.m. on March 24.

DPS said one of the vehicles ran a stop sign along Papago Road and hit another vehicle going southbound on SR 347 then rolled and struck a third vehicle traveling northbound on SR 347.

EMS took the driver of the first vehicle to a hospital in critical condition. The passenger died at the crash scene.

Police then arrested the suspected at-fault driver and charged them with manslaughter.

Further investigation into this fatal collision is ongoing.
