Female Driver Dies after Solo Vehicle Crash on Jefferson Street in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (January 20, 2023) – Early Friday morning, a woman died, and another sustained injuries in a solo vehicle crash on Jefferson Street.

The crash in Phoenix happened just after 3 a.m. on January 20.

AZDPS said the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it clipped a work truck, causing the vehicle to lose control and roll.

The female driver was trapped underneath the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

While the passenger in the car suffered a non-life-threatening head injury. 

Investigators said speed and impairment are believed to be factors in the crash. 

Moreover, they believe the vehicle occupants were also not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
