Woman Dies in Skydiving Plane Crash near the Oceanside Municipal Airport 

Oceanside, CA (June 3, 2022) – Friday afternoon, a woman died, and one person sustained injuries in a skydiving crash near the Oceanside Municipal Airport.

The fatal skydiving crash in Oceanside happened at around  1:50 p.m. approximately 500 yards east of the airport, near Foussat Road north of state Route 76.

Oceanside police said a single-engine aircraft being used by the skydiving company GoJump Oceanside may have been on an approach to the airport when it crashed.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutters to open a door and freed two people. 

EMS airlifted one patient to a hospital, while an ambulance took the other to Tri-City Medical Center but later died.

Oceanside police officers and firefighters responded to the scene, and local officials notified the Federal Aviation Administration.

Further investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
