Fatal Rollover Crash on 15 Freeway in Corona
CORONA, CA (May 26, 2019) – One person was killed and another one was injured following a rollover crash early Sunday morning in Corona, authorities said.
The crash happened around 4:14 a.m. on southbound 15 Freeway, just South of Dos Lagos Drive. The freeway in that stretch has a dirt divider between northbound and southbound lanes, with some trees.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle had flipped over and crashed into a tree in the center divider. One occupant did not survive in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another patient was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
A SigAlert was issued on southbound 15 Freeway at the crash site. Two lanes were open for traffic just before 8:00 a.m., with only the first or fast lane, still closed.
No identifying information is being released at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
