Driver Dies in Head-On Crash on State Route 79 in Superior

Superior, AZ (April 14, 2022) – Thursday early morning, a driver died and one other sustained injuries in a head-on crash on State Route 79.

The fatal head-on crash in Superior happened at around 3:47 a.m. on April 14.

DPS said the collision involved a Dodge Charger and a pickup, ejecting the Dodge driver from the vehicle. That driver died at Chandler Hospital.

EMS flew the other driver to the hospital in unknown condition.

No other information is available at this time.

Further investigation to determine the cause of the fatal collision is ongoing.
