Police Investigate Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 155 in Coffee City
Coffee City, TX (February 23, 2023) – Early Wednesday, one person died and another sustained critical injuries in a head-on crash on Highway 155.
The fatal crash in Coffee City happened at 2:30 a.m. on February 22.
Police said the collision involved a white car and a green pickup truck, both with extensive front-end damage after the crash.
Reportedly, the driver of the white car lost control as a result of the spare tire failing, causing them to swerve into oncoming traffic. That is when the two vehicles collided head-on.
The truck driver died at the crash scene.
EMS rushed the white car driver to UT Health-Tyler in critical condition.
No additional information is immediately available.
