Driver Dies after Head-On Crash near Firebaugh in Fresno
Fresno, CA (October 29, 2021) – Thursday night, one person died, and one other sustained injuries in a head-on crash near Firebaugh.
The fatal crash happened at around 7 pm near Avenue 7 1/2 just west of Firebaugh Boulevard.
The California Highway Patrol said the driver of a Ford was going east on Avenue 7 1/2 when the driver of a Mazda veered in the way of the Ford.
As a result, the cars crashed head-on, and the driver of the Mazda died at the scene. The man was in his 50s.
Meanwhile, the Ford driver suffered a fractured leg and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center.
Investigators said the man killed was either not wearing his seatbelt or not wearing it correctly.
No other information is immediately available.
Further investigation is ongoing.
