Driver Killed in Artesia Fiery Crash, Debris Causes Motorcycle Accident
ARTESIA, CA (June 06, 2019) – A female driver died in a fiery crash on 91 Freeway in Artesia early Wednesday morning. Additionally, a motorcyclist sustained injuries after apparently running into the debris on the freeway.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred just after 2 a.m. Wednesday. The driver was operating a 2010 crossover utility vehicle eastbound on the the 91 Freeway when she lost control of the vehicle. It veered off the roadway near Pioneer Boulevard, crashed into a tree, and then burst into flames.
Emergency crews found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene. They were unable to help the driver inside it. The still unidentified victim died at the scene.
Following that fiery incident, a motorcyclist ran into the debris on the freeway and crashed. A video showed that the motorcyclist was conscious and talking while an ambulance took him to a medical facility.
Further investigation of the accidents is underway.
