1 Dead and 1 Hurt in Marysville Car Collision on 5 Freeway
MARYSVILLE, WA (June 25, 2019) – A person died while another sustained injuries after a car and pickup truck collision on 5 Freeway.
The incident occurred on June 22 on 5 Freeway near Highway 529. According to troopers, a white Ford pickup truck hit a 22-year-old man in a Honda Accord. It’s still unclear whether the man stopped or drove at a very low rate of speed while heading south.
As a result, the Honda struck the guardrail and landed on the right shoulder.
The pickup truck overturned, slid on its roof and hit a guardrail. The vehicle landed on its top facing northbound, partially in one lane.
The Honda driver died at the scene while the pickup driver went to Providence Hospital.
It’s still unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
The police did not reveal any other information regarding the accident at this time. However, the authorities are investigating the crash.
