1 Dead and 1 Hurt in Issaquah Car Collision
ISSAQUAH, WA (January 28, 2020) – A woman died while another sustained injuries in a car collision on Highway 18 on January 25.
The semi-truck and passenger vehicle occurred at 11:20 a.m. on westbound Highway 18, halfway between the 90/18 interchange and the Raging River (milepost 27). The incident also all lanes.
Responders transported one person to a local hospital and Highway 18 will remain closed in both directions for an extended period.
Meanwhile, EF&R Chief Jeff Clark revealed that the incident led to one injury and one fatality. According to WSP, a westbound small SUV drove across the center line and struck the eastbound semi. The two vehicles both ended in a roadside ditch.
The 47-year old North Bend woman, the SUV driver, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the 46-year old male semi-truck driver sustained injuries and went to Overlake Medical Center for treatment. The authorities also ruled out drugs and alcohol as a factor in the collision/
Highway 18 between I-90 and Issaquah/Hobart Road remained closed for around seven hours during the investigation.
