One fatality in ATV Crash on Lost Mountain Road in Sequim
Sequim, WA (June 08, 2020)– On Saturday afternoon, one unidentified individual died while another sustained injuries in an ATV crash on the 4000 blocks of Lost Mountain Road.
The crash happened at around 3:40 p.m. on June 6. Dispatched officers responded about two miles down a gravel road off the 4000 blocks of Lost Mountain Road.
According to witnesses, they were following the ATV as a group when it missed a curve and tumbled down a steep embankment. Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing helmets or restraints. Both were ejected.
Moreover, the witnesses responded and rendered first aid until medics arrived.
The 43-year-old passenger sustained injuries. However, the 26-year-old driver died in the ambulance while en route to the hospital. Both are from the Port Angeles area.
Although alcohol was present, it does not appear to be a factor at this time, police say. Further investigation is ongoing.
