1 Dead and 1 Injured in Stevens Pass Collision on Highway 2
STEVENS PASS, WA (February 26, 2020) – A person died while another is in critical condition after a pickup truck collision on Highway 2.
The collision between two pickup trucks occurred near Stevens Pass, revealed the Washington State Patrol.
According to Trooper Heather Axtman of the State Patrol, the state troopers and medics came to the crash scene, on U.S. Highway 2 just west of Stevens Pass, at about 9:00 a.m. upon reports of a serious accident.
When the responders arrived, they located two wrecked pickup trucks. They pronounced one occupant dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the other person sustained critical injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. However, Axtman did note that there are initial indications that the incident was a head-on crash.
The authorities also administered alternate routes for vehicles to maneuver through the crash scene.
