1 Hospitalized after Edmonds Train Collision near Dayton Street
EDMONDS, WA (February 6, 2020) – A person sustained injuries early Tuesday morning in a truck and train collision near Dayton Street.
Edmond Police revealed that around 5:00 a.m., a freight train clipped a vehicle that was on the train track along the waterfront near Dayton Street.
Upon arrival, responders transported an injured man to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.
The crash temporarily dismissed the Edmonds-Kingston ferry route because the incident blocked all access to and from the Edmonds terminal. Washington State Ferries advised everyone to use Seattle-Bainbridge as an alternative route.
Moreover, the collision caused minimal damage to the train. The Sounder North Line Train #1701 went back to the Mukilteo Station and will hold until the tracks near Edmonds are cleared.
The tracks will remain closed until at least 7:00 a.m.
When driving, it is important to obey all traffic laws and abide to all railroad crossings. Never drive while impaired otherwise it could lead to serious consequences. By driving responsibly, you can help keep yourself and others around you safe.
