One Hospitalized After Tanker-Truck Crash on Koopman Road
Sunol, CA (April 22, 2020)– On Wednesday early in the morning, one unidentified man sustained minor injuries in a tanker-truck crash on Koopman Road.
Authorities responded after receiving the crash reports just before 2:50 a.m. on April 22, which occurred at the Koopman Road off-ramp.
Reportedly, a tanker-truck carrying a 99 percent ethanol crashed at the Koopman Road off-ramp. As a result, one person was immediately transported to a local hospital for further treatment of minor injuries.
Further so, CHP closed all lanes of southbound Interstate as responding officials continued the transfer of ethanol to another container. After the successful operation, the area since re-opened shortly after 2:40 p.m.
Due to a truck’s significant size and power, drivers cannot stop quickly or maneuver easily like other vehicles, and thus they need additional time to react and adjust their speed.
Therefore, always remain cautious when passing a large truck, and make sure to give clear signals.
No one likes to suffer injuries due to another drivers’ negligence, even more so to risk contact with hazardous chemicals a large commercial vehicle may be carrying.
