Injuries Reported in Daviess County Auto Accident on Interstate 35 near Mile Marker 62
DAVIESS COUNTY, MO (December 4, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a person suffered injuries in a startling 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 35.
The incident involving two vehicles happened at 2:25 p.m. on Interstate 35 northbound near mile marker 62, approximately two miles west of Winston in Daviess County, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a crash involving a 1998 Kenworth and a 2012 Lincoln MKX, both traveling northbound. The Kenworth, driven by a 59-year-old man from South Wayne, Wisconsin, merged from the passing lane into the driving lane, striking the rear driver’s side of the Lincoln.
The impact caused the Lincoln, driven by a 36-year-old man from Grand River, Iowa, to spin and come to rest in the median, facing west. The Kenworth stopped on the highway shoulder, remaining on its wheels and facing north.
The Lincoln’s driver sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center by Daviess County Ambulance. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The Lincoln, with minor damage, was towed by Scotty’s Towing, while the Kenworth, also minimally damaged, was driven from the scene. The incident was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, with assistance from Sergeant S.J. Cool and Corporal J.J. Thompson.
