Scott Michael Callahan Arrested in Westminster Car Crash
Westminster, CA (August 23, 2020) – On Wednesday, a woman got injured while a 30-year-old Scott Michael Callahan was arrested in a car crash on Bolsa Street and Brookhurst Avenue.
The crash happened at about 10:25 p.m. on August 19, when police tried to stop Callahan from overspeeding in the 3000 block of South Bristol. But Callahan sped off.
Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said Callahan ran several red lights during the chase. Including the one at Bolsa Street and Brookhurst Avenue in Westminster, where his vehicle crashed into another vehicle.
Rescuers took the 47-year-old woman who was driving the other car to a local hospital due to unspecified injuries.
Callahan went out of his car and fled on foot, but authorities caught him shortly.
Scott Michael Callahan faces charges of leading police on a chase, driving the wrong way, failing to stop at a hit-and-run with injury and reckless driving while eluding police, along with a misdemeanor count of driving on a suspended license.
In addition, Callahan was ordered to return to court on August 31 for a pretrial hearing in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
