Injuries Sustained after San Diego Rollover Crash on 5 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 02, 2019) – A rollover crash on the 5 Freeway left at least one person with injuries Thursday morning.
The authorities received reports of the incident at around 8:50 a.m. The crash occurred on southbound 5 Freeway near the San Onofre nuclear power plant.
Involved in the collision were two vehicles at the least. One of them rolled over and went off the side of the freeway. First responders had to extricate one person trapped inside one of the vehicles. They requested a medical helicopter to transport a patient to the hospital.
The crash prompted the closure of all lanes on the southbound side of the freeway to allow the medical helicopter to land at around 9:30 a.m. All southbound lanes reopened by 10 a.m.
