1 Injured in Piper PA-28 Collision at Rubicon Bay [Lake Tahoe, CA]

Lake Tahoe, CA (July 3, 2023) – At about 10:18 a.m. on Saturday, a person sustained injuries following a Piper PA-28 collision at Rubicon Bay.

The aircraft which was carrying two passengers crashed into the lake. Boaters who were in the area during the crash responded to the scene and rescued the passengers.

One of the passengers sustained a serious head injury.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office marked the PA-28 aircraft with GPS coordinates for hazmat purposes as it is fully submerged in the lake.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the Lake Tahoe aircraft crash.
