1 Hurt in Corning Multi-Vehicle Accident
CORNING, CA (December 14, 2018) – A person suffered major injuries following a multi-vehicle crash in the Corning area of South Avenue and State Route 99E on December 13.
The crash between a three-axle semi pulling a set of empty double trailers and more than one Honda vehicle occurred about 7:50 a.m. According to reports, the involved vehicles ranges from two to six.
As a result of the crash, traffic was snarled. The Chico CHP office, Tehama County Sheriff’s Department, Corning Police Department and Caltrans assisted.
According to the CHP’s list, the collision involved a gold Honda whose driver was transported to Enloe Medical Center with injuries, a silver Honda and a red Honda. Among the Honda vehicles, one was reported to be an Accord.
It was also revealed that an employee from a power line contractor was involved in the crash.
The CHP reported that both lanes of 99E were shut down and traffic was blocked at Rowles Road and detoured onto South Avenue. At 10:21 a.m. on Thursday, the road was reopened.
Meanwhile, due to the debris and fuel leak, the Caltrans was called to the scene.
