1 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on California Avenue [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (February 15, 2024) – A person was hospitalized and a driver was arrested following a traffic crash on California Avenue Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews responded past 10:30 a.m. to the multi-vehicle collision on Chester Avenue.

Troopers said a Chevrolet pickup truck driver ran a red light and collided with three vehicles at the intersection.

Several people attempted to help a driver in one of the vehicles. 

The Chevrolet pickup truck rested at the southeast corner of the intersection.

Later on, the medical team transported one person to a hospital with moderate injuries. 

Officers arrested the pickup truck driver who was evaluated for possible DUI.
