1 Hospitalized after Auto Accident near Sycamore Avenue in Gilroy

 
GILROY, CA (April 21, 2020) – Early Sunday afternoon, an unidentified person was injured in a motorcycle accident on Church Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 1:10 p.m. Emergency personnel arrived to the area on Church Avenue and Sycamore Avenue, shortly after.
 
Authorities later revealed that the accident was between a dirt bike and a gray Dodge Dakota. However, the events that led up to the collision remain unclear.
 
First responders located a seriously injured motorcycle rider lying on the road upon arrival. Meanwhile, responding paramedics transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital to receive further treatment for his major injuries.
 
The surrounding area on Church Avenue was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since been reopened.
