Injuries Reported in Los Angeles Auto Accident on 5 Freeway and Lyons Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 13, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a person suffered injuries in a rollover crash on 5 Freeway and Lyons Avenue.
The incident happened at about 1:17 p.m. on southbound 5 Freeway, just north of Lyons Avenue, said supervisor Melanie Flores with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“One person was transported to the hospital,” said Flores.
According to reports, the impact ejected a child from a vehicle, leading to severe road rash.
When officers arrived, they found a flipped car onto its backside. Then, they blocked the #1 lane of the Freeway.
Meanwhile, officers confirmed that the child sustained road rash wounds.
Due to the crash, the authorities shut down the southbound 5 Freeway as first responders worked to transport patients to the hospital.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
