PHOENIX, AZ (August 26, 2024) – Sunday morning, a woman suffered injuries in a crippling pedestrian crash on 16th Street and Indian School Road.
The incident happened at about 4:00 a.m. when a driver struck a woman in the area of 16th Street and
Emergency responders quickly arrived and transported the victim to the hospital with critical injuries. She is now in stable condition. Police reported that the woman was hit while crossing in the middle of the street. The driver remained at the scene and was not under the influence, according to authorities.
A significant police presence was noted in the early morning hours. Indian School Road was closed in both directions but was reopened around 9:30 a.m.
