SOUTH COUNTY, CA (June 12, 2022) – Friday night, a person sustained injuries in a police chase crash on Palm Avenue and Beyer Way.
 
According to San Diego police Officer Darius Jamsetjee, the incident started at around 9:25 p.m. Then, authorities attempted to pull over a gold Ford Ranger for a traffic violation on Otay Mesa Road. However, the pursuit started at around 9:25 p.m. after the driver refused to pull over and sped away.
 
Reports revealed that officials learned later that the vehicle was reported stolen. Then, deputies stopped chasing the vehicle at some point but continued to search for it. Moments later, bystanders waved at the deputies and reported a hit-and-run crash involving a white Tesla sedan at Palm Avenue and Dennery Road. On the way to the first scene, deputies received another report about a second crash involving a Toyota Highlander SUV on Palm Avenue and Beyer Way. Afterward, the hit-and-run driver fled the scene again after the collision.
 
Moreover, authorities confirmed that an occupant of the SUV from the second crash sustained minor injuries.
 
Furthermore, officials believed that the driver was wanted on prior warrants related to stolen vehicle charges.
 
Meanwhile, the incident remains under investigation.
