PETALUMA, CA (November 23, 2021) – Saturday night, a person suffered injuries in a pedestrian crash on Highway 101 near Petaluma Boulevard North.
 
The incident occurred at about 11:34 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 near Petaluma Boulevard North.
 
Reports said that a passing car struck a person walking in the slow lane.
 
When the first responders arrived, they found the man in the road.
 
According to CHP officials, a southbound Toyota RAV4 struck the man. Then, the driver stopped and waited for the officers’ arrival.
 
Meanwhile, the officers confirmed that the driver was not under the influence at the time of the crash.
 
Responders took the pedestrian to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
 
Also, the authorities shut down the highway lanes while officers stayed on the scene.
 
Meanwhile, a driver struck in the backed-up traffic passed out while driving. Then, authorities arrested the driver for DUI and booked them into the Sonoma County Jail.
