Injuries Reported in La Mesa Multi-Vehicle Accident on El Cajon Boulevard and Interstate 8

LA MESA, CA (February 16, 2023) – Wednesday, a person suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on El Cajon Boulevard and Interstate 8.

The incident happened on the El Cajon Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 8, said the California Highway Patrol’s incident log.

According to some witnesses, a driver traveled in the wrong direction on eastbound I-8. Then, it approached the on-ramp and clipped one car, and caused several other vehicles to collide.

Meanwhile, the wrong-way driver drove onto La Mesa surface streets and the driver remained at large.

Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed any description of the wrong-way vehicle.

Moreover, responders transported one driver to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
