1 Hospitalized after San Diego Car Collision on 30th Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 14, 2019) – A person sustained injuries in a car collision near 30th Street on August 9.
According to reports, a semi-truck knocked down utility poles in the Barrio Logan area. The incident shut down power to around 4,200 San Diego Gas & Electric customers in the Mountain View, Lincoln Park, and Logan Heights areas, as well as parts of National City.
The incident occurred about 1:45 a.m. near 30th Street and Main Street, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez revealed.
The semi-truck hit two vehicles and knocked down power lines, Martinez added. In addition, the semi caught fire. However, responding firefighters put it off.
Meanwhile, responders transported the semi-truck driver to a hospital with injuries.
According to SDG&E spokeswoman Helen Gao, the incident shut down power to around 4,200 SDG&E customers at 1:42 a.m. in the Mountain View, Lincoln Park, Barrio Logan and Logan Heights areas, some parts of National City and residents near south 32nd Street.
By 8:20 a.m., they have restored power except for 526 customers.
