1 Hospitalized after Anaheim Car Accident on 5 Freeway
ANAHEIM, CA (September 17, 2019) – A person sustained injuries in a fiery car accident on 5 Freeway involving a big rig on September 13.
The incident happened just before 1:00 a.m. on 5 Freeway near Lincoln Avenue. The incident prompted authorities to issue a SigAlert and closed all lanes.
According to the CHP, the big rig caught fire after crashing into a wall of an overpass. Fortunately, firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze.
The CHP officers took the driver from the burning big rig. Meanwhile, responders transported the driver to a hospital with serious injuries.
The incident scattered some produce carried by the big rig on the lanes.
Moreover, two HOV lanes are available but all lanes will reopen around noon.
