1 Injured in San Rafael Interchange Crash, 4 Vehicles Damaged
SAN RAFAEL, CA (February 4, 2019) – One person was injured in a four-vehicle crash at the San Rafael interchange Tuesday afternoon. The accident caused major damage to a Toyota and moderate damage to a Tesla, while two box trucks required towing.
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened near the connector from southbound Highway 101 to 580 Freeway at around 4 p.m. Tuesday. Major traffic delays into northern San Rafael was experienced when police closed one lane during the investigation and cleanup. Spilled fuel was cleaned by the CalTrans crew using sand.
The accident is still being investigated.
