Man Injured in Shelton Car Accident
SHELTON, WA (April 30, 2019) – A 41-year-old Spokane man driving a stolen pickup truck suffered injuries after a police pursuit on April 26.
According to reports, the Spokane man drove a stolen blue pickup truck. A Mason County deputy saw the truck on Shelton-Matlock Road near Carmen Road. He tried to stop it. However, the driver went off, and a pursuit ensued until the pickup driver struck the deputy’s vehicle.
Afterward, a Shelton Police SUV continued the pursuit at westbound Highway 106 in Shelton. The SUV pitted the pickup. As a result, the truck hit the eastbound ditch and overturned, landing on its wheels.
The driver didn’t wear a seatbelt during the crash. Meanwhile, medics transported him to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
Charges are still pending while the crash remains under investigation. Furthermore, the road remained closed for almost four and a half hours.
