Vehicle Catches Fire in Collision near Joshua Street
VICTORVILLE, CA (September 14, 2018) – One person was hospitalized Friday afternoon following a fiery crash on 15 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place around 3:16 PM in the southbound lanes of the highway, near Joshua Street. At least five vehicles were recovered at the scene, including a blue Toyota Camry, that caught on fire. Events leading up to the accident are unclear at this time.
Medics were requested to the scene for needed medical attention. The pregnant woman driving the Toyota was taken to the Desert Valley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Her current condition is unknown at this time. No other injuries were reported in the incident, and the identities of the parties involved were not disclosed.
When officials responded to the crash site, they found the burnt vehicle in the center divider. Debris was seen scattered in the roadway, prompting the crews to close the 1st lane of the highway for cleanup and investigation.
No additional information has been released to the public, as officials continue to investigate.
