1 Injured in San Diego Car Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 29, 2019) — A man was hospitalized following a fiery car crash on January 27 in the Nestor neighborhood.
According to reports, it was about 11:30 a.m. when a Mini Cooper and a truck collided near Grove Avenue and Hollister Street. The car caught fire, and the driver was unable to get out on his own.
“There were two guys who pulled him out; I helped pull him out. We pulled him on the side, and he kept wanting to get up and I kept telling him ‘lay down, Papi, lay down,” said Ronda Reed.
Fire crews were called to the scene to put out the flames immediately. Meanwhile, the driver of the car was taken to a nearby hospital.
“I just hope he’s OK; I hope his family is OK. Many prayers go out to them,” Reed stated.
The police revealed that the Cooper’s driver suffered injuries while the truck driver remained at the area and has been cooperative with the authorities.
The cause of the collision is still being investigated.
