1 Injured in Los Banos Multi-Car Accident

LOS BANOS, CA (April 24, 2019) – A person suffered injuries after a chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles in Los Banos on April 19.

Sgt. Jesus Parras revealed that a van stopped at a red light on southbound Highway 165 and East B Street at 4:48 p.m. Meanwhile, a pickup truck followed the van. However, a sedan struck the pickup and caused a chain-reaction collision.

As a result, medics transported one person to a local hospital. Moreover, Highway 165’s southbound lane shut down. Authorities administered an alternate route down the center median.

Investigations determined that the cause of the crash is inattention and unsafe speed. However, authorities did not cite anyone as of Friday afternoon.

Parras added that they ruled out drugs and alcohol as a factor in the crash. Meanwhile, the closed lanes reopened at around 5:30 p.m.

Road accidents can happen anytime, anywhere, and to anyone. One small driving mistake can lead to disastrous results. That is why it is important to drive defensively and to always abide by all driving laws. This way, you can ensure your safety and the safety of surrounding vehicles, motorists, and pedestrians.
