1 Injured in Sylmar Crash on 5 Freeway and Roxford Street
SYLMAR, CA (December 22, 2020) – Thursday morning, a person was hospitalized after an accident on the 5 Freeway and Roxford Street.
The Sylmar crash involved a sedan and a semi-truck filled with whey protein.
The LAFD & CHP officers came to the scene after a report of an overturned tanker truck. The report also said that a sedan overturned on the northbound 5 Freeway at Roxford Street.
Upon LAFD’s arrival, they found a white sedan on its roof.
Moreover, a tanker truck hauling WPC (whey protein) was also overturned. Its contents were spilled all across the road.
Due to the crash, the CHP shut down all northbound lanes for around 4 hours during clean up.
Meanwhile, the semi driver suffered minor injuries. Thus, responders took the injured as a precaution to a local hospital.
There are plenty of ways to maximize your safety on the road. Some noteworthy tips include keeping a steady and safe speed when traveling, leaving enough road space behind the driver in front of you, and paying attention to your surrounding.
