1 Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Collision on Taft Highway
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 4, 2020) – One person died in a vehicle and pedestrian collision on Taft Highway near Buena Vista Road on March 3.
At about 5:40 a.m., after receiving reports, the California Highway Patrol responded to the area on Taft Highway near Buena Vista Road.
Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a man in the roadway who appeared to have been struck by several cars.
CHP confirmed that a pickup truck driver first struck the man early in the morning. The driver stopped and contacted 911. However, while he contacted the authorities, several drivers stuck the man while driving past him.
The CHP also said that the crash remains under investigation, and they are withholding the identity of the pedestrian.
