1 Killed in Redwood City Train Accident near Whipple Avenue
REDWOOD CITY, CA (August 6, 2020) – Early Tuesday morning, a person died in a Caltrain Crash near Whipple Avenue.
According to Caltrain spokesperson Tasha Bartholomew, at around 7:30 a.m., a northbound train near the Whipple Avenue struck hit a pedestrian on the trucks.
At this time, the identity of the deceased remains unreleased due to pending family notification. Also, it’s unclear whether the person died at the scene or the hospital.
Meanwhile, the 25 occupants of the train reported no injuries. Due to the crash, all trains temporarily stopped as the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Transit Police Bureau came to the scene.
