1 Killed in El Cajon Car Crash
EL CAJON, CA (February 20, 2020) – A male person died in a solo vehicle crash on Second Street on February 16.
According to reports, the man, said to be in his mid-30s, died when he steered his 1998 Ford Explore onto a center median and struck a tree in El Cajon.
The crash on Second Street occurred at around 1:50 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Second Street, stated Lt. Jason Taub of the El Cajon Police Department.
The driver was traveling north on Second Street when the incident happened.
Meanwhile, the identity of the deceased remains unreleased due to pending family notification. Reports also revealed that the man solely occupied the vehicle.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the collision. It’s also unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the deadly crash.
As a result of the collision, the northbound and southbound lanes of North Second temporarily closed between Persimmon Avenue to Greenfield Drive.
