1 Killed and 4 Hurt in Richmond Auto Accident on Highway 80 near El Portal Drive

 
RICHMOND, CA (September 28, 2021) – Monday afternoon, a person died in a rollover crash on Highway 80 near El Portal Drive.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 4:45 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 near El Portal Drive.
 
Reports revealed that a Toyota RAV4 rolled over to its side. Then, a Honda Civic and a Toyota Corolla hit the Toyota RAV4.
 
Furthermore, responders transported three passengers of the Rav4 to a hospital. However, one of the passengers, an unidentified male, later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Moreover, paramedics confirmed that the Rav4 driver was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
 
Meanwhile, officials do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
Also, the incident closed Highway 80 but has long since reopened.
