1 Fatally Struck in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on Union Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 10, 2020) – Early Monday morning, an unidentified person died in a pedestrian accident in the 200 block of Union Avenue.
Around 5:32 a.m., Bakersfield Police arrived to the 200 block of Union Avenue where a vehicle reportedly fatally struck a male pedestrian. Authorities declared him dead on scene.
Meanwhile, the female driver involved in the crash stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities also ruled out drugs or alcohol as potential factors.
According to the officers, they will still conduct an interview with the female driver.
Reports also revealed that there was six or seven police cars that responded on Union Avenue and 4th Street.
Meanwhile, the Bakersfield Police Department advises motorists to avoid the area during their investigation. They shut down the southbound Union Avenue at 4th Street. However, they were expected to reopen it around 10:00 a.m.
