1 Killed and 1 Injured in Fresno Multi-Vehicle Accident on Ramona Avenue near Shields Avenue
FRESNO, CA (August 5, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, a person died in a multi-vehicle crash on Ramona Avenue near Shields Avenue.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 4:40 p.m. Moreover, it occurred near Ramona Avenue, just north of the intersection of Clovis and Shields avenues.
Reports revealed that a southbound Chevy Trailblazer crossed the center median. Then, it struck three parked vehicles, Sgt. Joseph Bianchi of the CHP said.
Furthermore, responders pronounced the Chevy driver, a 53-year-old Clovis man, dead at the scene.
Moreover, paramedics rushed a 32-year-old Fresno woman to a local hospital with major injuries. The authorities confirmed that she was an occupant of the parked Toyota Camry.
Meanwhile, officers confirmed that no one occupied the two other parked vehicles at the time of the incident.
Also, officials said that it is still unknown if impairment played a role in the crash. Furthermore, the Chevy driver failed to wear a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
