1 Killed in Tucson Pedestrian Accident on E Pima Street near Pima Avenue

TUCSON, AZ (April 11, 2023) – Saturday, a person died in a tragic pedestrian crash on E Pima Street near Pima Avenue.

The incident occurred at the 4500 block of East Pima Street near the intersection of Pima and North Belvedere Avenue.

According to reports, a woman was lying in the roadway, wrapped in a blanket. Then, officers determined that a gray 2007 Dodge Ram was involved in the crash.

Upon the Tucson Fire Department crews’ arrival, they transported the pedestrian to the hospital. However, she later succumbed to her injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Dodge Ram remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Detectives from the Traffic Investigation Unit confirmed that the pedestrian got up from lying on the road. Then, that person walked in front of the Dodge Ram, traveling eastbound on Pima Street.

Officers from the Impaired Driver Enforcement Unit determined that the driver of the Dodge Ram was impaired during the crash.

Thus, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
