One Pronounced Dead and Gary Gomez Hurt in Ramona Expressway Pedestrian Accident in Nuevo
Nuevo, CA (April 17, 2020)– Thursday evening, one unidentified person was killed, while Gary Gomez, 58, sustained injuries from a pedestrian accident on Ramona Expressway.
The Riverside County Fire Department immediately responded to the scene, which occurred in the 34000 blocks of Ramona Expressway near Bridge Street, upon receiving accident reports at about 9:45 p.m. April 16.
According to reports, two pedestrians were walking, when suddenly a vehicle came around and hit them both. The circumstances leading up to the accident remains unspecified.
As a result of the extreme impact, responding paramedics pronounced one dead on the scene, while they immediately sent the other individual to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Moreover, the authorities did not disclose the identities of both parties involved.
The surrounding area on westbound lanes of Ramona Expressway was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since re-opened to traffic.
