1 Killed and 2 Hospitalized in Irvine Accident on State Route 405 near Irvine Center Drive

 
IRVINE, CA (December 12, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, a person died in a fiery crash on State Route 405 near Irvine Center Drive.
 
According to Orange County Fire Authority, the incident happened on California State Route 405 near Irvine Center Drive.
 
Reports revealed that a southbound vehicle lost control. Then, it veered towards the center median and struck the side of another car. Afterward, the vehicle that lost control erupted into flames with its driver trapped inside.
 
Moreover, responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Paramedics transported two patients to a hospital with critical injuries.
 
Furthermore, authorities believe that the causing vehicle was traveling too fast for the rainy weather and hydroplaned.
 
Meanwhile, the incident remains under investigation.
