OTAY MESA, CA (October 27, 2022) – Wednesday morning, a person died in a solo crash on Interstate 805 and State Route 905.

The incident happened at around 3:15 a.m. on the southbound Interstate 805 transition ramp to westbound State Route 905.

According to reports, a southbound white BMW veered off the roadway for still unknown reasons and struck a tree.

Moreover, firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated three occupants of the vehicle trapped inside the wreckage. Then, responders pronounced a female passenger of the vehicle dead at the scene. Also, paramedics transported the 18-year-old female driver of the vehicle and her other female passenger to a hospital, both with major injuries.

Meanwhile, CHP closed the southbound Interstate 805 to westbound Strate Route 905 to give way to the investigation.
