INDIO, CA (February 9, 2023) – Tuesday night, a person died in a pedestrian crash on Interstate 10 near State Route 86.
 
The incident happened at around 11:05 p.m. on Interstate 10 near State Route 86.
 
According to a CHP spokeswoman, a vehicle struck a pedestrian for still unknown reasons and then fled the scene.
 
Moreover, officers confirmed that the victim succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Furthermore, the incident closed all lanes of the freeway for about three hours but has long since reopened.
