HESPERIA, CA (June 14, 2022) – Sunday morning, a person died after a hit-and-run crash on Cottonwood Avenue near Sycamore Street.
 
According to authorities, the incident happened around 4:15 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on Cottonwood Avenue, north of Sycamore Street.
 
Reports revealed that a 29-year-old female pedestrian had fallen onto the roadway. Also, a 32-year-old man was helping her when a vehicle struck them both. Then, the vehicle fled the scene southbound on Cottonwood Avenue.
 
Moreover, responders pronounced the female pedestrian dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the male pedestrian to a trauma center with critical injuries.
 
Furthermore, the incident closed Cottonwood Avenue, from Sycamore Street to Sequoia Street for several hours.
 
Meanwhile, Hesperia Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) asked everyone with information about the crash to call Deputy F. Zavala or Sergeant Brendan Motley at the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station.
